Johnny Mack Jones, 73, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 14, 2019.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in a private setting for the family.
Johnny was raised in Johnston County, born on March 17, 1946 to the late A.V. and Annabelle Jones. Johnny was a painter in the area for many years, and many will fondly remember his garden each year, especially the tomatoes and okra he was so proud of. Johnny was an avid fisher and could often be found enjoying the day with a fishing rod in hand, regardless of whether the fish were biting or not.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Young Jones; daughter, Amy Lee Jones; sisters, Mary Stewart, Hazel Parker, Betty Beasley, Judy Jones; brother, A.V. Jones, Jr.; and his canine companion, Rocky.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his granddaughter, Josie Guin; nieces and nephews, Charlotte Norris, Danny Blackmon, Felicia Foster, Adam Lasarasky, Brad Lasarasky, Sherry McLamb; and a host of extended family and friends.
